Welcome!  The INSPIRE program will help jumpstart your student’s college career. 

This program is designed for students in the College of Engineering who did well in high school but may be less familiar with the university environment.  In the INSPIRE program, your student will quickly find a community of other first-year engineering and computer science majors.  Your student will learn what they need to successfully navigate UCSB, and will be matched with a junior or senior peer mentor in their major to provide guidance on classes, university life, and more!  Plus, not only is participation in INSPIRE free, but INSPIRE will provide a $300 stipend for each participating student! 

We know that starting a rigorous Engineering or Computer Science major in a fast-paced research university can be challenging for students. The INSPIRE Program is here to help get your student off to their most successful start possible!
